What is ‘shared hosting’?

Traditional shared hosting is a type of hosting where a single server hosts multiple sites. Users are allocated resources within the limits of that server where they can host their website files, email and databases. Hosting websites on a single server has many drawbacks, especially when it comes to speed and reliability. Our next-gen autoscaling shared hosting is different, drawing on the power of our entire platform and not just one server. Intelligent global load balancing responds to traffic and balances it across multiple servers when needed. Plus, busy sites are isolated from others, so they won’t affect another site’s performance. Any of our web servers can serve any website we host at any time.

Can I upgrade my web hosting at any time?

Yes, upgrading or downgrading is quick and easy and can be done any time from within our control panel, My20i. All your website files can be downloaded for easy migration or backups.

Where are your data centres?

We have multiple data centres in the UK and the USA. You can choose between having your website(s) hosted in the UK or USA when you set up your hosting. We also have our free CDN, which will store copies of your public site content at data centres around the world. So your website will load quickly – for everyone!

Are backups included?

Yes, we’ve got you covered. Daily automated backups come free with all our paid web hosting packages. You can also create backups whenever you like using the simple backup tool in YPanel. You can restore from any point in the last 7 days.

Do your plans include SSL Certificates?

We support LetsEncrypt which provides a free SSL Certificate to all domains which you host with us. You can use this to secure your primary domain, all subdomains and even addon domains too. To issue a new SSL certificate with LetsEncrypt, head over to your control panel, go to ‘LetsEncrypt SSL’ and then follow the details on the screen to ‘Issue’ your cert for the chosen domain.

Can I use my domain registered elsewhere with your serivces?

You can also choose to point your domain to us using our default nameservers, ns1.yooltech.org
ns2.yooltech.org
ns3.yooltech.org
ns4.yooltech.org
so you don't have to transfer your domain across if you don't want to. Our nameservers will be in the welcome email upon order acceptance.

Why are your domain is free?

It’s fairly simple: our main business is web hosting so we don’t seek to make a huge profit on domain pricing. If you buy a service from yooltech you’ll get a free brand domain name.

How do I transfer my domains to Yooltech?

There’s a couple of different ways: SO domains (all domains that end .so)
  1. Ask your current domain provider for the domain name authorisation code.
  2. Log in to your account at YPanel and click ‘Transfer a Domain’.
  3. Enter the domain name and click ‘Search’.
  4. Add the domain to your basket and complete checkout.
  5. Wait until complete.
gTLD domains (ending in .com, .net, .org and most other domains)
  1. Ask your current domain provider for the domain name authorisation code.
  2. Log in to your account at YPanel and click ‘Transfer a Domain’.
  3. Enter the domain name and click ‘Search’.
  4. Add the domain to your basket and complete checkout.
  5. An email will be sent to the email address listed as the admin contact.
  6. Follow the link in this email and approve the transfer by entering the authorisation code.
  7. Once authorized, the transfer will complete automatically within 5 days.

How long does it take to transfer?

.so domains are transferred instantly, so they’ll appear in your YPanel account straight away. .com, .net, .org and most other domains take 5-7 days to transfer. Your website and emails remain live during this time – this is just the time it takes the registry to process the transfer.

How do I check the progress of my domain transfers?

Head to Pending Domain Transfers within your YPanel account. You may see a couple of different statuses: Pending Owner Approval – In the case where an authorisation code (EPP) hasn’t been provided with the transfer of the domain, the registry will send an approval email to the admin email address. Follow the instructions in the email so the transfer can move to the next stage. Pending Registry Approval – Once the domain transfer has been verified either by an authorisation code (EPP) or approval email then we must wait for final confirmation from the previous registrar. There isn’t anything you need to do. The transfer will complete usually within five to seven days. When a transfer completes it’ll be removed from the Pending Domain Transfer page. You’ll then be able to manage it from the Manage Domains page.

Are domain names refundable?

Unfortunately once a domain has been registered; it's not possible to then cancel it, and it must be left to expire. Therefore, in line with our Terms and Conditions and the Third Party Domain Terms; we do not offer refunds for domain names.

Can I transfer my domain name to another provider?

Yes, absolutely. If you wish to move your domain names to another registrar, you can do so with no out-bound transfer fee from us.
